Across the Water

You have to hit across the water in order to reach the green.

Before you attempt this shot, you must have confidence that the ball will reach the green and have selected the correct club. If you do not think you can make it then just play it safe. If you decide that you can make it, take an extra moment to visualize where you want the ball to land and how you want it to fly to get there. Do not focus on the water or that is where the ball will go.

With your fairway wood, set the ball inside of your forward foot or under your forward armpit. Concentrate on accelerating through the ball. If you tend to try to help getting the ball up, focus on clipping the ground just a little on the target side of the ball. This will remind you to move through the ball without trying to help it up.
