You are casting the club or are swinging over the top.
This could be due to lack of flexibility in your hips. If you are not flexible enough in your hips, it will cause you to be unable to initiate your swing properly with your lower body. Be certain to stretch your hands and wrists as well. This is because casting can occur due to a poor angle of the hands and wrist, setting up for an over the top swing.
Try stretching your wrists and hips on a daily basis. For a good wrist stretch, press your palms against each other as you would when praying. Now keep your palms together as you raise your elbows so that your forearms are parallel to the ground. Hold it in this position for at least 20 seconds, relax, and repeat. Next, extend your right arm out in front of you with the palm facing down. Using your left hand, bend your right hand down so that your fingers are pointing towards the ground. Repeat the stretch on the other hand. To stretch your hip muscles, sit up straight in a chair and rest your right ankle across the top of your left leg. While keeping your back straight, bend your chest towards your legs until your feel a nice stretch in your hips. Hold this position for 25 seconds. To help deepen this stretch, prop your left leg up on a stool before stretching your right hip. Straighten your back again and twist your upper body so that the back of your left elbow is pressing against your right knee. If you do not feel much of a stretch in your hips while doing this twist, keep your back straight and lower your chest down a little towards the ground. Repeat both of these stretches on the other side.
